IPS officer Peeyush Pandey gets another extension in SPG

New Delhi: IPS officer Peeyush Pandey has been given extension till next month-end as Inspector General in Special Protection Group (SPG).

The tenure of Pandey, a 1993 batch IPS officer of West Bengal cadre, was in February 2015 extended till December 17, last year.

The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved for extension of deputation tenure of Pandey from December 18, 2016 to April 30, 2017, an order issued by the Personnel Ministry said.

Besides the Prime Minister, the SPG guards the former PMs and their immediate family.
