The process for admission has started from June 2, for 54,000 seats in various colleges of Delhi University with lot of disciplines. Delhi University is considered to be one of the best university in the country and has its own global recognition.

DU is offering conventional, job-oriented, courses with technical inputs to the students of the country. These courses can broadly be divided into three parts, humanities, commerce and economics, technical, conventional science courses and some new ones. Journalism, Honours in Economics, Commerce, English are most sought for in the courses in the field of humanity while journalism is open to the students of all streams.

In field of science, Honours in Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology are the conventional courses offered along with some new modified courses. The courses have a global recognition specially the students of physics are being preferred by NASA and other institutes. Apart from this, so many new courses have been introduced keeping in view the market and global requirement which can be seen on the website of the university.

One important question is always in the minds of students and their parents is whether the course is important or college? In this regard my personal opinion is that, one should go in for the course instead of college as up to greater extent the marks you obtain at the degree level is more important than the institution from where you have studied that course, as finally the degree is to be awarded by the University of Delhi.

These days almost all the colleges and even DU has its placement cells which can easily provide better job opportunities if a student has better marks, having better communicative skills, understanding of Indian and global market and overall, the personality built during the years.

One should not feel disappointed if he/she fails to get admission in proper college as institute of open learning is equally well equipped which provides instructions in various courses available in various colleges of the university.

Lot of private universities too, provide lot of courses, provided a student has capacity to meet their expenses. It will be advisable and better if a student could verify about the faculty, facilities available and their credibility in case of placement after the completion of that course. As some institutions claim to be at the top, but the reality is that they are below than the cypher in shape of facilities and faculties.
