$30mln lawsuit against Evan Rachel Wood termed preposterous

Date:

Washington: The 30 million dollars lawsuit that was filed against actress Evan Rachel Woods by the producers of ’10 Things I Hate About Life’, has been termed as “preposterous” by her reps.

While talking to the Hollywood Reporter, a representative for the 26-year-old actress said that the lawsuit was just a harassment tactic from the financially troubled producers who ran out of money, and had to close the production in February 2013.

The rep continued saying that Wood had agreed to work for them when the producers claimed they would be back in business by November 2013, but they couldn’t make it happen, and it was them who breached the contract as they didn’t even pay the star the money that was owed.

Previously, 10 Films, LLC filed a lawsuit nearly a year and a half after ‘The Wrestler’ star allegedly backed out of the film due to “personal reasons”, claiming that she was paid $300,000 in advance to play the lead and had breached the contract without any legal justification.

Though the suit also stated that defendants argued that Woods had fulfilled her contractual obligations, despite performing only 11 days of principle photography, the producers have asked for the compensation that includes equity investments, financing costs, damages and lost profits, plus attorney fees.
