Students protest in front of Smriti’s house

Date:

New Delhi: NSUI members staged a protest in front of HRD Minister Smriti Irani’s residence on Wednesday, demanding the rollback of the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme.

“We want Smriti Irani to come out and discuss our issues. We want this four-year programme to be taken back as soon as possible,” said Mohit Sharma, national General-Secretary, NSUI.

The four-year degree programme has been a bone of contention ever since it was implemented by Delhi University. There have been constant demands by the Delhi University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) and the student bodies to roll it back.
