Pak troops open fire in Poonch

Date:

Srinagar: In a major ceasefire violation by Pakistan, the entire Medhar area in the Poonch sector of the Line of Control has come under attack on Friday.

Small arms, grenades and rocket propelling grenades were being used by the Pakistan Army since 7 AM.

The Indian Army retaliated after heavy firing from across the LoC. No casualties have been reported so far.

The attack took place just hours after two IED explosions took place in BG sector. One Army jawan was killed and six others were injured in the IED blasts on Thursday night.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tweeted, “Significant ceasefire violation in Rajouri and Poonch with reports of some shells having landed in civilian areas. Some livestock loss.”
