New Delhi: Are you a shop-o-holic? Do you shop online? Do you believe and fully trust the company to deliver the exact product that you saw on the site itself? Be double sure as you may just get a soap and a brick instead of the product you ordered.
It’s not uncommon to hear bad experiences with e-commerce stories: your products are not delivered, sometimes they are lost and sometimes they are delivered to you, but not in one piece.
But, Snapdeal took it to a whole new level this time.
According to a Facebook post by Laxminarayan Krishnamurthy, a resident of Borivali in Mumbai, he opened a package containing what he thought was his new Samsung Duos smartphone, but turned out to contain instead, a bar of Vim soap and a brick.
“Had ordered a samsung mobile through snapdeal and we got a soap bar!!!The worst customer service ever received!!!Beware of snapdeal guys!!it’s a fraudulent e-retail company.We have lost our money and there’s been no response from snapdeal whatsoever,†she posted in Facebook with the photo.
The FB post was published on October 24 and was shared more than 16,000 times. On October 27, Krishnamurthy commented on the post saying that it had been more than a week but Snapdeal had not resolved the issue. However, on October 28, he commented saying, “Snapdeal has finally promised to return the money within 5-6 working days!!”
But this is not the only case of goof up. A resident of Dwarka ordered a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 few days back from Flipkart. On Saturday morning, when the delivery boy came to deliver the product, the customer was shocked to discover a piece of rock inside the box.
Annoyed and disgusted at such a major glitch, the customer immediately called up company’s customer care and posted it on Flipkart’s Facebook page. Meanwhile, Flipkart has apologized for their fault and told the customer that they are re-shipping the product.
At the time when online marketing is creating a niche in the e-commerce sector, the questions remains, will apologizing solve the glitches and lack of security that is being performed by these sites?
