Hogwarts safe for LGBT students: J.K Rowling

Date:

London: Billionaire author J.K Rowling has confirmed that ‘Harry Potter’s’ magic school, Hogwarts, would have been home to all kinds of students.

The 49-year-old author was questioned by fans on social media if the school was safe for LGBT students, at which Rowling replied that students who were lesbian, gay, transgender as well as those from a variety of religious denominations were just as welcome at Hogwarts as any other.

She then tweeted a picture which read “If Harry Potter taught us anything it’s that no one should live in a closet.”

At another fan’s query, the writer confirmed that there were Jewish students at school, giving the example of Anthony Goldstein, from Ravenclaw, saying that neither he was the first nor the only one.

Rowling added that the only students that she didn’t imagine at Hogwarts were ‘Wiccans’.
