10 highlights from Kejriwals victory speech

Date:

New Delhi: Government should be afraid of its people and not otherwise, reiterates Kejriwal in his victory speech.

The sun finally rose on the aam admi’s revolution against the corrupt and the powerful after Arvind Kejriwal got an overwhelming people’s mandate in Delhi state assembly this morning.

Kejriwal came out to deliver his victory speech to a sea of supporters restating the message that people should not be afraid of the government but the government should instead be afraid of its people. He ended his speech by using Bhagat Singh’s legendary phrase ‘Inquilab Zindabad’ which was a centrepiece in our independence struggle and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ which was frequently used by our PM Narendra Modi not so long ago after winning the General Elections.

Here are the highlights from Delhi’s newly elected Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s victory speech:

‘Arrogance’ is the cause behind the downfall of BJP and Congress in Delhi.

Don’t have room for arrogance. Then the same people who have voted us to power will teach us a lesson after five years.

There is also a fear inside. It’s very scary. The kind of support people of Delhi have given us, I would like to tell all workers/MLAs not to be arrogant. We will walk the path of truth.

People of Delhi have achieved something spectacular; I salute them; it is a victory of truth. We have to get together and serve Delhi. I cannot do anything alone.

With the help of our two crore people, we will make Delhi a city for which both poor and rich will feel proud of.

If I didn’t have the blessings of my father and the support of my wife, I wouldn’t reach anywhere. Friends, the support of our family, the well wishes and the blessings of the elders matter a lot behind our success.

We have to join hands and work towards the development of Delhi, I cannot do anything alone, I am too small to do it alone on my own.
