Actress Himani Shivpuri booked for allegedly cheating producer

Indore: A popular face on TV and films, actress Himani Shivpuri has been booked for allegedly cheating a film producer.

The local court directed the police to file a case against the actress for duping a film producer. 

A case under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code was registered against her at the Vijay Nagar police station on Thursday, based on the directive a lower court, a police sub inspector said.
 
He said that further investigations in the case are on.
 
An Indore-based film producer, Mohammad Ali had petitioned the court alleging that Himani, 54, had entered into an agreement with him to act in his two of his movies, on March 22, 2011, the police sub inspector said, adding that the actress had taken Rs.5 lakh as advance from Ali.
 
In his plea, Ali stated that Himani had inflicted a huge financial loss on him by abandoning acting in his movies midway, the police sub-inspector said.
 
Based on Ali’s complaint, on March 22, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Santosh Prasad Shukla directed Vijay Nagar police station to register a case and get back to it with an investigation report.
