From King Khan to Big B, the first salaries of your favourite Bollywood stars are sure to leave you stunned. While some actors were born with the silver spoon in their mouth, there were others who had nothing but sheer talent and pluck in their corner – The knowledge of their humble beginnings acting as a catalyst that today spurs them onto greater heights.

1.       Shah Rukh Khan
This self-made man – Shah Rukh Khan, initially worked in concerts as attendant. His first job was Pankaj Udhas Concert for which he was paid Rs. 50 and with that he visited Taj Mahal.
2.       Sonam Kapoor
The actress started working at the young age of 18 as an assistant director and earned Rs.3000 as her first pay per project. Did you know that Sonam travelled by the Mumbai local back in the day to survive on her income? Interesting, isn’t it?

The serial kisser of Bollywood did a commercial for the brand Goodnight at the age of seven, and received Rs.2,500 for it.
4.       Ranveer Singh
Ranveer Singh worked as a server at Starbucks while studying abroad. Didn’t really make in the millions then.Â
5.       Aamir Khan
Mr. Perfectionist, the none other than the most talented Aamir Khan’s first job was as a assistant director for which he was paid Rs.1000. He gave it all to his mother.
6.       Akshay Kumar
We all know about Akshay Kumar’s culinary background. But did you know that Akki worked as a chef and a waiter at Metro Guest House in Bangkok for 1000 baht a month which was barely Rs.1, 500? He sure has come a long way!
7.       Priyanka Chopra
PeeCee earned a sum of Rs.5,000 as her first salary and never spent it. She gave it all to her mother who still has the amount. It’s Priyanka’s biggest treasure.
8.       Hrithik Roshan
Hrithik Roshan acted in the movie Aasha in the year 1980 as a child artist and was paid Rs.100 for his role. The actor was very thrilled with his first paycheck and spent the entire amount on buying toy cars. Aww!
9.       Amitabh Bachchan
Big B’s first job was as an executive in Bird & Co in Calcutta, where he was paid a sum of Rs.500 a month. He received Rs.460 after the tax and P.F. deduction. Small beginnings, huh?
10.   Boman Irani
Boman was a waiter and a room service attendant in Mumbai’s Taj Mahal Palace Hotel before trying his luck in films. He also used to help his mother run their ancestral bakery shop. He then took to photography and joined theatre before Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. came his way.
