A television show on PM’s community

Date:

New Delhi: Doordarshan is set to telecast a serial highlighting the eminent and successful people from the oil-pressers community. The serial will be based on the lives of eminent people, including that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The serial called ‘Diye Jalte Hain’ will be telecast on Doordarshan by October. The serial will narrate the history of the Ghanchi-Teli community, to which PM Modi belongs.

It will be interesting to see which actor plays PM Narendra Modi in the serial, according to the director Saif Subedar the casting for Modi’s role had not been done so far. “We are yet to do casting for the role of Modi ji…just a muhurat shot is done,”  Subedar said.

Apart from Modi, the serial will also feature biographies on Emperor Chandragupta Maurya and Ashoka.

Subedar also said that the first phase of the serial had 128 episodes and was likely to run for nothing less than ten years.

This is not the first time that Doordarshan will telecast a show based on history, politics or social issues. Shows like ‘Bharat Ek Khoj’, ‘Kakaji Kahin’, ‘Bahadur Shah Zafar’, ‘The Sword of Tipu Sultan’ and ‘Akbar Birbal’ were very popular on Doordarshan earlier.
