IS-Pak nuke connection exposed

Washington: In order to create terror around the world, Islamic State (IS), in its propaganda magazine ‘Dabiq’, has claimed that it may acquire a nuclear weapon from Pakistan within a year to attack the US.  

The article titled ‘Perfect Storm’ mentioned a hypothetical operation in which the IS used its billions of dollars to purchase a nuclear weapon through deals with ‘corrupt officials’ in Pakistan. It also mentioned how the nuclear device can be smuggled into the US.

“The IS has billions of dollars in the bank, so they call on their wilayah (chapter) in Pakistan to purchase a nuclear device through weapons dealers with links to corrupt officials in the region,” the article stated.

“The IS made no secret of the fact that they have every intention of attacking America on its home soil and they’re not going to mince about with two mujahidin taking down a dozen casualties if it originates from the Caliphate.

“They’ll be looking to do something big, something that would make any past operation look like a squirrel shoot, and the more groups that pledge allegiance the more possible it becomes to pull off something truly epic,” the article stated.

It further said, “Remember, all of this has happened in less than a year. How more dangerous will be the lines of communication and supply a year on from today?”

The article ended with a warning, “As the territory of the Islamic State crosses from one border to another like a wildfire that is burning out of control, it’ll be only a matter of time before the Islamic State reaches the Western world.”

The article has been written by Cantile, who is in IS captivity since he was kidnapped in 2012. He has appeared in several IS propaganda video, which were later posted on YouTube.

Apart from its nuclear ambitions, the ninth issue of Dabiq titled ‘They Plot and Allah Plots’ praises the Texas attack by two gunmen on a Prophet drawing contest, and justifies the group’s enslavement and rape of Yazidi girls.
