SRK thanks Chennai Express team on second anniversary

Date:

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has thanked actress Deepika Padukone, filmmaker Rohit Shetty and the team of “Chennai Express” on the hit movie’s two year anniversary.

The 49-year-old actor took to Twitter to express his gratitude towards the team, who worked on the action comedy, which released on Eid in 2013.

“Love to Rohit, Dudley, Vishal Shekhar, @deepikapadukone, Honey, Steven, Nikitin, Satyarajji, UTV RC and the Team for the fun times on Chennai Express,” he said.

Shah Rukh also thanked his team of the 1997 Subhash Ghai directed romantic film “Pardes”, which completed 18 years.

“And time to thank Mr Ghai Mahima Kabir Ahmed Sarojji Amrishji Nadeem Shravan & everyone in the film for making Pardes so memorable,” he wrote.

“Pardes”, which was released to celebrate 50 years of India’s independence, was the debut film of actress Mahima Chaudhry, and also starred Amrish Puri, Apoorva Agnihotri and Alok Nath.
Meanwhile, Deepika, who not only starred opposite SRK but also debuted opposite him in ‘Om Shanti Om’, believes nothing can ever change her equation with the superstar.
Deepika had recently posted the first look of her upcoming film Bajirao Mastani on Instagram, which will clash at the Box office with SRK-Kajol starrer Dilwale this year, with hashtag #ChallengeAccepted.

The ‘Piku’ star later edited the picture and removed the #challengeaccepted part, but it seems the damage was already done. Reportedly, King Khan was not happy with her ‘Chennai Express’ co-star’s attitude.

When asked Deepika about it, she said, “I find it really amazing that some picture of my film with a certain hashtag… it’s amazing that some connection is found to some completely different film and it is blown out of proportion. I don’t think any of these articles will ever come in my way on my equation with Shah Rukh.”

The actor said it was ironic that when people were reading about the reported fight, SRK was sending her messages congratulating her on opening her foundation in the field of mental health.

“What he and I share is known to us and it is very special. Ironically, when you all were reading this article, he was messaging and congratulating me about my foundation. He was one of the first people I spoke to while I was thinking about it. He has always been encouraging and supportive.”

“I am just an actor. I am neither the producer nor director to say anything. I have no business sense and I have no idea whether it is good or bad for the film,” she said about the box office clash.

Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Bajirao Mastani are slated for release on December 18 this year.
