Sri Lanka will be looking to win the second Test against India today and seal the three-Test series to give Sangakkara a fitting farewell.
India lost the first Test at Galle by 63 runs after dominating the first two innings.
Opener Shikhar Dhawan, who has been ruled out of the series with a hairline fracture was replaced by Murali Vijay.
Stuart Binny came in for spinner Harbhajan Singh and pacer Varun Aaron was replaced by Umesh Yadav.
India won the toss and chose to bat against Sri Lanka.
