Nw Delhi: For many, honeymoon is a ‘once in a lifetime’ event filled with love and memories. But for Swapnil Tavrej, it was a pathetic experience which he will never forget.
Yes, like other couples, Swapnil and his wife booked their honeymoon tour via MakeMyTrip, an Indian online travel company which manages tours packages.
The company, on opting for premium package, promised them a best hotel, but on reaching the destination, they were shocked to see the arrangements.
Swapnil now posted the entire incident on Facebook garnering lot of support. He has also lodged a complaint with National Consumer Helpline and waiting for their reply and action on same.

THIS IS HOW #MAKEMYTRIP SPOILED MY LIFE EVENT!
As adviced by the MMT tour advicer ; I was on honeymoon at North East, while making booking I had clearly mentioned to #MakeMyTrip that I will not compromise in hotels, I want best hotels during my trip and I was asked to buy premium package to get same and yes I did!
First of all we were told that this will be the group tour which will be departing on 7th August 2015, just to get along with group and not as an individual couple so that we get a company during travel ;we postponed our trip for 2 Months and surprisingly what we found is; in an entire group there are only two of us!
Great!
We stayed at Gangtok for 3 days and #MakeMyTrip had proved their promise true during this stay by providing us good hotel (3-4 Star) then on 10th we traveled all the way to Pelling which is approximately 125 Km from Gangtok, so its a 6 to 7 Hrs of journey! Yes cause due to hilly area and small roads you can travel at max 25 Kms in an hour! During entire travel we could not get good food to eat, we were asked to be ready early morning to cover full distance within time as land sliding was all time threat over there, hence we did and we were horribly tired and hungry!
Upon arrival at pelling, as per our hotel Vouchers, we were allotted to a hotel named as NORBU GHANG RESORT & SPA but there is no such hotel exists in Pelling, rather there are below two listed hotels,
1. NORBU GHANG RESORT – 16 Years old, in a pathetic state, full hotel under renovation and only 1 room available in horrible state!
2. NORBU GHANG RETREAT & SPA – Brand new and as per our expectations.
Driver dropped us to the 1st mentioned hotel and looking at the lobby itself we got a doubt in mind that we might be at wrong hotel still we went in room to have a look and to our surprise as soon as fellow opened the room, it was in state like it has not been opened since few years!
Then a whole lot of suffocating air with stinky smell…!
WOW none other can be the greatest surprise to my wife than this..!
Then what? Then I rechecked our voucher and to the surprise found different name on it so I told my wife I guess we are in wrong hotel let me talk to the reception and then I picked up the phone to call reception n guess what? Phone is dead…! another Wow…!
Then I had to walk to reception all the way in rain; yes in rain! cause the room was so called “cottage”!
Then the guy on reception says no you are in right hotel, I have an email from Makemytrip…! Then I called my local tour manager and told him all above narrated, then he checked and reverted saying #MakeMyTrip to the surprise has raised there hands saying that guest has to stay at same Hotel as they can not change the hotel now ( In off season when all other hotels were absolutely vacant! )
Then I called up directly to #MakeMyTrip and For first call I was told wait for half n hour we will do arrangements, then I received a second call saying wait for 2 minutes we will get back to you with your other hotel details…!
Then we waited for 3 hours in lobby, tired and hungry!
My local driver Shyam tried all his level to explain reality to local tour Manager pradip but…!!!
Finally we checked-in to other hotel on our own, managed to get our food… N guess what…!!
Those 2 mins of #MakeMyTrip are still not over…

Guys, this is my experience about the false commitments made by so called worlds best tour manager Make My Trip having controversial tag line ” MEMORIES UNLIMITED” which is pathetically true…!
I wasted my Time, Money and spoiled my Life Event!

I want you all to Share this story so that this reaches to as many as possible, people like us spend our heavy earnings for such tours and then service providers like #MakeMyTrip sends us emails of apology and offers peanut compensation amount in return…
& WHEN I TOLD THEM THAT I WILL POST THIS ON FACEBOOK, THEY SAID WE DON’T CARE… AND NO ONE BOTHERS…
LETS SHOW THEM THEIR LEVEL BY SHARING THIS TILL IT BOTHERS THEM…!!

I have lodge the complaint with National Consumer Helpline with docket no. 5174012448515 and waiting for their reply and action on same.
Dear Makemytrip now you will soon realise the consequences of taking your customer for granted when whole world will read this story!

GUYS,
Thank you all for your support, MMT has just now realized the power of social media and I just got the call from them saying that they are STILL working on it and shall revert to me with my demand of full refund, but what about the money that I lost for those 7 days in business during my trip…
What I have paid for it I think is peanuts infront of amount that will be saved by innocents who have read my post and It will be an injustice to those who have supported me by sharing this post if I delete it… I think I will keep this post forever till whole world reads it…
Now money seems to have lesser value than the social awareness….
