Volkswagen shares down more than 20% on US false emissions scam

Shares in German auto giant Volkswagen fell more than 20 percent in Frankfurt on Monday after it emerged some of its diesel cars in the United States had been fitted with software that gave false emissions data.

At 0900 GMT, the shares on the Frankfurt stock exchange, which had opened 13 percent lower, were showing a loss of 22.2 percent at 126.35 euros.
