Date:

New Delhi: Commuters in Delhi are likely to face traffic congestion and snarls for next two days in view of Dussehra and processions for immersion of idols of goddess Durga in various parts of the city.

In an advisory issued today, Delhi Traffic Police has informed commuters about potential traffic congestion in and around central Delhi.

“Restrictions on movement of traffic will be imposed on Netaji Subhash Marg, Nishad Raj Marg, New Darya Ganj Road, JLN Marg and Turkman Gate depending on the crowd situation, after 5 pm tomorrow,” said Sandip Goel, Jt Commissioner (Traffic).

Dussehra celebrations are likely to lead to congestion of traffic on various roads in the city, he said.

Traffic will also be affected due to immersion of Durga Puja idols on the next two days.

Mandir Marg, Panchkuian Road, Connaught Place Outer Circle, Minto Road, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Outer Ring Road and Chittaranjan Park and other roads will be affected due to movement of processions for idol immersion, said the officer.

Commercial vehicles will not be allowed on Wazirabad bridge and will be diverted towards ISBT bridge while Yamuna Pushta road towards Jaitpur from Kalindi Kunj would be one way.

Traffic from Jaitpur side to Kalindi Kunj will be directed to Kachchi Colony Road, Agra canal. On exit from Kalindi Kunj Ghat, all vehicles will take compulsory left turn on Jaitpur Pushta and use Kachchi Colony Road on Agra canal, added the officer.
