Delhi Government transfers 14 IAS officers in major reshuffle

New Delhi: In a major reshuffle, the Delhi government transferred 14 IAS officers, of whom six have been assigned vigilance duty in a bid to strengthen its anti-corruption wing.

According to a government order, six IAS officers posted in various departments “will look after only the works related to vigilance of the assigned departments”.

These officers are special secretary (health and family welfare) F O Hashmi, special secretary (finance) D F Dwivedi, special commissioner (trade & taxes) D K Mishra, special secretary (urban development) B L Sharma, and special secretary (environment) Z U Siddiqui. Additional commissioner of North Delhi Municipal Commissioner V K Beniwal will look after vigilance-related work in Higher Education department.

Recently, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had said that in order to curb corruption in various departments, Delhi government would strengthen vigilance department which would have a team of vigilance officers.

Simultaneously, eight other IAS officers including Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board chairman Janak Digal, Delhi Financial Corporation CMD A Majumdar and Social Welfare director P R Meena have been given new assignment.
