Sushant Singh Rajput will be seen in the role of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, in biopic titled as- “MS Dhoni: The Untold Story” . The film is being directed by Neeraj Pandey, and before the casting was finalised, superstar Akshay Kumar wanted to play the role of the beloved cricket captain.
The “Houseful” actor, who was very keen to do the film, even approached Pandey to be cast in the role but was denied by the director.
Akshay was told that he did not look like Dhoni, to which the actor agreed.
Akshay and Neeraj have worked together in the film “Baby” together, which did well, both commercial as well as critically.
Sushant, the actor chosen to play the role, has apparently worked very hard to look like the actor as well as learn his batting style on the field.
The film, which shows the different stages of the acclaimed captain’s life, off and on the cricket grounds, is one of the most awaited films of this year and is set to release on 30th September.
A few posters and a teaser have also been released for the upcoming film. Apart from Sushant, the film also stars Kiara Advani as MS Dhoni’s wife, Sakshi Dhoni.
