Xiaomi to launch Redmi 3 variant in India

Mobile handset manufacturer Xiaomi is capturing the market by storm; now actually eating into the pie of companies such as Apple and Samsung. It is all set to bring its new Redmi 3 variant, the Redmi 3S, to India. The company has not declared any specific date for the release of the much awaited model.
This particular model was launched in China back in June. It comes in two variants based on memory and inbuilt storage – with the 2GB of RAM with 16GB of inbuilt storage model priced at CNY 699 (with a cost of approximately Rs. 7,000), and the 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage model priced at CNY 899 (with a cost of approximately Rs. 9,000).
Here are some of the specifications that the phone features:

  • The Redmi 3S packs an all-new octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at 1.1GHz clubbed with Adreno 505 GPU.
  • The smartphone supports expandable storage expandable storage via microSD card (up to 128GB)
  • The dual-SIM handset (Micro + Nano) comes with hybrid SIM slot which means the second slot also acts as a microSD slot.
  • Redmi 3S features a fingerprint scanner at the back panel.
