The Rio Olympic Committee pays a tribute to Brazilian musician Vinicius de Moraes, by naming its mascot Vinicius. According to Olympic committee, the Vinicius is a mixture of various Brazilian animals. The design of mascot is inspired by pop culture, video game, and animation characters. This mascot “Vinicius” stand for diversity, culture, and enthusiasm of the Brazilian people.
Vinicius will be accompanied by its colleague Tom, who is the mascot for the 2016 Summer Olympics and Paralympics.
