Assam Govt chalks out model action plan for I-Day celebrations

Guwahati, Aug 11 (PTI) Assam government has chalkedout a Model Action Plan for Independence Day celebration thisyear for the state level programme at Guwahati and also in allthe districts. The Action Plan for August 13 includes cleanlinessdrive in all government campuses and community spaces,plantation programme, programme on classical and folk songsand dances and illumination of public buildings, an officialrelease said here today. The Action Plan for August 14 include Independence Dayrun at district and panchayat level, various grass roots levelcommittees to highlight values and vision of freedom fighters,cycle rally/processions in tea garden areas with banners andposters on freedom struggle related themes, street plays,awareness generation programme etc. The Plan includes Prabhat Pheri/procession by studentsof educational Institutions (government and private) withposters/banners on freedom struggle related themes, organisingNational Flag hoisting and special function at important landmarks of freedom struggle, participation of members of varioussocio-ethnic groups in the Independence Day parade, streetplays/one act play at educational institutions/public places,the release added.
