Three youths detained in connection with betting racket

New Delhi, Aug 16 (PTI) Three youths were picked up bypolice from Jafrabad area of north-east Delhi tonight inconnection with alleged betting racket, after which the familymembers of the youths and locals staged demonstration outsidethe police station. Three youths – Danish, Subhan and Fazil were picked bypolice from Matke wali Gali in Jafrabad at around 10.30 PM. "A police team had gone to pick up a few suspect inconnection with betting racket has nabbed the three youth. Weare verifying the facts," said a senior police officer. However, the locals claimed that Danish and Subhan wereDelhi University students while Fazil worked at a motorworkshop and had "nothing to do with betting". They also alleged the police used force as the familymembers staged a protest outside Jafrabad police station wherethe youth were detained.
