3 booked for disrupting gram sabha meeting

Thane (Maha), Aug 17 (PTI) Three villagers have beenbooked for allegedly disrupting a special meeting of a gramsabha in the district on August 15, police said today. As per the complaint filed by gram sevak of Bhokrivillage Abhay Bhere yesterday, when the meeting was going on,the trio tried to snatch the mobile of a villager who wasrecording its proceedings, Thane District Police said in astatement. The accused Umesh Kathore, Suresh Gorle and GaneshGorle also started shouting during the meeting. Following thedisruption, the meeting was abruptly called off, they said. A case under sections 353 (assault or criminal forceto deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 427(mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) of IPCwas registered at the Padgha police station, police said,adding investigations were underway.
