Lupin tops most reputed pharma brand list

Mumbai, Aug 17 (PTI) Domestic pharma majors Lupin, SunPharma and Cipla have dominated the list of top reputedpharmaceuticals brand survey released today. City-based Lupin Pharmaceuticals tops in reputationleading the country’s most reputed pharmaceutical brands’list, as per ‘Top Most Reputed Pharmaceutical Brand’ studyconducted by BlueBytes in association with TRA Research. Sun Pharmaceutical, with a 52 per cent Brand Rep Scoreand Cipla with 28 per cent bagged the second and third spots,followed by Dr Reddy’s Laboratories at fourth. Among global brands, GSK led the way, followed by Pfizerand Abbott. In all, 41 domestic and 17 internationalpharmaceutical brands were listed in the study. "India’s reputation as the largest producer of genericdrugs in the world has become vulnerable in light of thechanging patent regime in the country. Reports say that by2020, India is likely to be among the top three pharmaceuticalmarkets by incremental growth and sixth largest marketglobally in absolute size," said Pooja Kaura, chiefspokesperson for India’s Most Reputed Brands.
