Spread tentacles of Congress ethos, Rahul told cadres

Mumbai, Aug 19 (PTI) As Assembly polls are due in somekey states next year, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhiexhorted the party cadres to "spread the tentacles of theethos" of the party upto the booth level, a senior partyleader said here today. A senior Congress leader from Maharashtra who was presentat the two-day training of ‘master coaches’ of JawaharlalNehru Leadership Institute in Delhi which ended today, saidthat Gandhi, in his nearly one-hour speech to trainees,spoke about the "misdeeds" of the Narendra Modi-led Governmentand the urgent need to "save the country" from BJP rule. "Rahul spoke about the inclusive agenda of Congress anddivisive agenda of RSS. He also spoke about the idea of’Swaraj’, and the freedom of thought that Indians deserve andhow BJP is crushing anybody who dares to think against it,"the leader told PTI. "Rahul Gandhi also asked us to gear up for the importantAssembly polls next year and to spread the tentacles of theparty’s ethos among the people, right upto the booth level,"he added. Rahul spoke about RSS’s fear of poor Hindus which itfeels will revolt against it if they found out how badly theywere being treated under the veil of the Sangh’s anti-minoritystand, the Congress leader said. "Rahul Gandhi wants to continue training members of theNSUI and youth Congress who will in turn make sure that theyfight the RSS at the booth level in their own way and registerwins in important states," he said.
