The chief minister regretted that his party has to face alot of negative publicity and said that opposition partieswill indulge in every kind of talk as it is election time inthe state. To a criticism by Congress that development works havebeen undertaken only in Lucknow and Etawah during the SPgovernment, Akhilesh said "Bahut din baad aye ho ankheykholo, kitne laptops baant diye, sub stations banva diye" (youhave come after a long time open your eyes and see what allhas been done). "Congress alleges that no work is being done other thanLucknow and Etawah….they cannot forget Etawah as the partywas founded there," he stressed.
