TN Agriculture University wins ICAR award on organic farming

Coimbatore, Aug 24 (PTI) The Department of SustainableOrganic Agriculture of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University(TNAU) has bagged the award for the best centre for NetworkProject on Organic Farming (NPOF) for the year 2015-16, fromthe ICAR–Indian Institute of Farming Systems and Research. The award was in recognition of better performance,which includes successful experimentation, publications,identification of rice varieties for organic farming andimplementation of all programmes of Tribal Sub Plan among 20ICAR-Network Project Centres across India, a TNAU release saidtoday. The award was presented by Rajasthan AgriculturalUniversity Vice Chancellor, Balraj Singh, at the 11th AnnualGroup Meeting held recently at Indian Institute of SoilScience in Bhopal, it added.
