Disabled bodybuilder named fitness firm’s brand ambassador

Mumbai, Aug 26 (PTI) Sham Singh Shera, a disabled athleteof international repute, has been made brand ambassador ofJerai Fitness, a leading exercise equipment manufacturer. As the brand ambassador, the bodybuilder will promote thecompany’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activitiesacross the country, Jerai said in a statement here today. A native of Faridkot district in Punjab, Shera, whoseright leg is polio affected, has won many bodybuildingchampionships, including ‘Mr World’ in Spain in 2011. He alsobagged a gold medal in a competition organised by theInternational Federation of Bodybuilding in the US in 2015. In association with New Delhi-based NGO, ‘Udaan’, Jeraiwill organise a series of fitness workshops in Mumbai and thenational capital, where Shera will train disabled boys andgirls keen on becoming athletes, the statement said. "This entire project will be funded by Jerai.Additionally, the company will donate exercise equipment toUdaan, which works for welfare of the disabled in New Delhiand other states," the statement said. "Shera is an icon for the disabled boys and girls aspiringto become world-class athletes," Rajesh Rai, Managing Directorof Jerai, said. PTI APM RSYDIPJMF
