M&M launches DiGiSense platform to access vital vehicle info

Mumbai, Aug 26 (PTI) Utility vehicle maker Mahindra &Mahindra today launched DiGiSense, a technology solution aimedat empowering owners, fleet operators, drivers, dealers andservice teams to access information about their vehicles on areal-time basis. The technology will provide data like locating thevehicles real-time, history of the vehicle travel, reduceidling time in traffic zones with better route plan and savefuel cost and improve productivity. It can also diagnose potential engine problemsremotely, and reduce turnaround time during breakdowns. Itcomes with an emergency alert button that guides the owner tothe nearest service centre. The alert notification includesover speeding and excessive idling by drivers. "We have launched DiGiSense technology, which willempower customers to digitally build knowledge 24X7 about theperformance and location of their mobility products andtractors. "This new technology will be available in selectvariants of M&M commercial and passenger vehicles to tractorsand construction equipment and will cost between Rs 5,000 toRs 10,000 per vehicle," M&M Executive Director Pawan Goenkatold reporters here. The launch makes the company the first among IndianOEMs to have created an ecosystem of technology partners likecloud service provider, map provider, telecom networkprovider, hardware manufacturer and other third parties. "We regularly challenge conventional thinking andcreate disruptions and the launch of DiGiSense 1.0 is one sucheffort to adopt technology to develop new ecosystems. Fromproviding real-time data, to tracking performance andproductivity of the vehicles, the technology will enablecustomers to control their businesses," Goenka said. M&M President and Chief Executive, Truck, Power TrainDivision and Head Rajan Wadhera said: "The technology willinitially be available in Jeeto and Imperio in the smallcommercial vehicles space; Arjun Novo in the tractor space;Mahindra Blazo in the heavy commercial vehicles space; andEarthmaster in the construction equipment space. "Available as a subscription-based service, thetechnology will eventually be available across the entireline-up of Mahindra’s vehicles". PTI AP NSK JM ABKBAS
