Retired BSF Commandant killed by robbers, house ransacked

Chandigarh, Aug 26 (PTI) A bunch of robbers killed aretired BSF Commandant and injured his wife after they brokeinto the couple’s house at Dasuya town in Hoshiarpur district,police said today. The robbers took away his licenced gun and valuablesafter killing the 75-year-old Narinder Singh. "About 3-4 people entered the house, located at a remotestretch. They first injured Singh by hitting him witha rod. They also injured his wife," Hoshiarpur SSP, KuldeepSingh said. "They hit him with rod, ransacked the house, escapingwith valuables. Later on, his injured wife managed to walk outto some distance and informed some persons living near theirhouse. The police were subsequently informed," he said. The SSP said that the couple’s son lives abroad whiletheir daughters also live elsewhere. "We have registered a case and are hopeful to crack thecase soon," the police officer added. PTI SUN SG SMNSG
