Collection agent robbed of Rs 3 lakh

New Delhi, Aug 28 (PTI) A collection agent with a privatefirm was abducted and held hostage in a moving car for overtwo hours and later dumped after being thrashed and robbed ofRs 3 lakh in Shalimar Bagh area of northwest Delhi, policesaid today. Dayanand, 34, who works as a Munim and collection agentwith a firm dealing in metal at Shahabad Daulatpur area wasabducted and robbed of Rs 3 lakh by three car-borne criminalson Ring Road in Shalimar Bagh area on August 23 evening,police said. In his statement Dayanand told police he was returning tohis office on his scooter after collecting the money whenthree youths in a car intercepted him and forcibly dragged himinside their vehicle. The trio took him around for over two hours in the car andkept on beating him. Finally they threw him out in a serviceroad in the area after snatching his bag carrying Rs 3 lakh. Later, with the help of a motorcyclist he made a PCR calland was admitted to a hospital by the police. A case has been registered under Sections 365 and 393 ofIPC and investigation is underway to nab the unidentifiedaccused, said a police officer. PTI VIT HMPKUN
