Traffic woes for Kerry, stuck in jam due to waterlogging New Delhi, Aug 29 (PTI) Visiting US Secretary of StateJohn Kerry and his convoy were stuck in massive traffic nearSatya Marg here this evening due to waterlogging caused byheavy rains while on his way to the hotel from the IGIairport. The convoy of Kerry, who arrived here to participate inthe 2nd Indo-US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue, was headingto the hotel in Chanakyapuri in south Delhi when it was stuckin the traffic jam near Satya Marg today, an official said. Senior Delhi Police and traffic officials declined toshare details of the incident claiming it was a "securitymatter". Mediapersons, accompanying Kerry’s convoy, posted onsocial media pictures of vehicles stuck up. Officials sought to downplay the incident saying theconvoy was not stuck but had only slowed down due to heavytraffic and rainfall. The capital received heavy rains in the evening with theSafdarjung observatory recording 15.2 mm rainfall while thereading at Palam observatory was 8 mm.
