Ker govt announces Onam bonanza for its employees

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 31 (PTI) In a bonanza to itsemployees ahead of ‘Onam’ festival, the LDF government inKerala today decided to sanction a bonus of Rs 3,500 toemployees with a monthly salary of up to Rs 22,000. The decision was taken at the weekly cabinet meetingwhich also sanctioned a festival allowance of Rs 2,400 tothose who were not entitled for bonus, an official releasesaid here. The Cabinet also decided to enhance the relief amountwhich can be sanctioned by the Chief Minister, RevenueMinister and District Collector from the CM’s Relief Fund. While the Chief Minister can sanction up to Rs threelakh against the present Rs one lakh, the Revenue Minister canorder relief up to Rs 25,000 from the present Rs 5,000. The district collectors’ can sanction up to Rs 10,000,the release said. PTI UD VSAQSLNS
