Sydney, Sep 5 (PTI) A 35-year-old Bangladeshi woman andher ex-partner, likely of Indian origin, were found deadinside a house in Australia with police suspecting it to be acase of murder-suicide. Tasmin Bahar had recently separated from her partner ofsix years, Dave Pillay, and moved out of the home they sharedwith their three-year-old daughter, the Sydney Morning Heraldreported. But it was Father’s Day on Sunday and, despite therelationship troubles they had recently endured, Bahar agreedthat their three-year-old daughter should share part of thespecial day with her dad, her family said. Bahar drove her daughter to the weatherboard home theyhad previously shared in Smithfield, western Sydney, for themeeting on Sunday. On the same day, a relative visited the house and foundthe bodies of Bahar and Pillay inside a bathroom, the dailysaid. The child was found sleeping in the house and was notphysically injured. Homicide Squad detectives are treating the case as apossible murder-suicide. Bahar’s sister, Sharagin Bahar, said she was in uttershock at the sudden death of her sister, and was flying totheir home country of Bangladesh and then on to Sydney, hopingto take custody of her niece, who had now lost both of herparents. "(Bahar) was perfectly fine when I talked to her two daysbefore," Sharagin said. "I am so lost. I just want to take my niece into mycustody, I want her with me. I’ll take care of her. I’ll dowhatever is best for her," she said. Police said no other people were wanted over the deathsand the investigation was ongoing. Sharagin said her sister had been in a relationship withPillay for about six years and had told her that Pillay hadallegedly physically threatened her and her daughter in thepast. Bahar also told her that she had filed a report withpolice about the threats, Sharagin alleged.
