Panun Kashmir boycotts meeting with all-party delegation

Date:

Jammu, Sep 5 (PTI) Panun Kashmir, an organisationrepresenting Kashmiri Pandits, today boycotted a meeting withthe all-party delegation here, saying it was an eye wash andhit out at the MPs for "begging before separatists to meet". Panun Kashmir Convener Agnishakher told reporters 12representatives of various Kashmiri Pandit organisations wereinvited for the meeting with the all-party delegation visitingJammu and the time allotted to them was for eight minutes from2.55 PM to 3.03 PM. "How can 12 representatives representing differentpolitical parties and points of view be able to communicateanything coherent to the all-party delegation in thisduration," Agnishakher said. "We are boycotting the meeting with all-party delegationhere today as it is merely an eye wash to show (that)nationalists (are) being taken onboard while they are beggingbefore separatists in Kashmir for at least opening their doorsto the delegation members," he said. "It is amply clear to us and the entire nationalistconstituency in Jammu that Indian government along with thestate government is only making a pretension of meeting thenationalists in the state. We have decided not to meet theall-party delegation visiting Jammu today," he said. Terming it as a "cruel joke", Panun Kashmir Chairman AjayChrungoo said, "They are going to doors of separatists likeSyed Ali Shah Geelani who do not want a system of democracyand secularism but Shariat rule." He claimed that the decision to send the delegation toJammu was taken belatedly and was not part of the originalplan. "We have come to know that the delegation is spendingjust a few hours in meeting various sections in Jammu whichimplies that the views of those living in the region are notimportant enough for the central and state governments to becommunicated to the delegation," he said. "To us it is clear the central government wants only theseparatists and semi-separatist views to dominate thepolitical discourse on Jammu and Kashmir," Agnishaker said. "It means the Indian government has a policy design todelegitimise the nationalist opinion in Jammu and Kashmir.More precisely it means the government wants to suppress theopinion of Hindus, Sikhs and Bhudhists living in the state whohave been facing a relentless genocidal assault," he alleged. "We can no longer close our eyes to the stark realitythat the fundamentalist fascist religious separatism in Jammuand Kashmir is not only supported by Pakistan but receivessupport from within India," Chrungoo alleged. He claimed that the policies of central government treatnationalists in the state as liabilities and said the Hindusof Kashmir would work relentlessly to destroy internalsubversion. "Hindus of Kashmir will continue their struggle toachieve the Union Territory of Panun Kashmir north east ofriver Jhelum," he said. PTI AB DK AAR RTAAR
