Satish Kaushik returns to theatre with new play

New Delhi, Sep 11 (PTI) Veteran Bollywood actor-directorSatish Kaushik is all set to return to theatre with Saif HyderHasan’s next commercial production scheduled to be staged hereon September 17 and 18. Titled "Mr and Mrs Murarilal," the 120-minute-long playthat will see Kaushik romancing Meghna Malik of "Na Aana IsDes Laado" fame, puts forth the realities of different aspectsof life – old age, friendship and love. The plot that goes on to narrate the events of an eveningafter the two meet in a park, strikes an emotional chord withthe audience and at the same time cracks them up withperfectly timed humour. As the evening progresses, the protagonists talk theirheart out, sing songs, and confess their love to each othereven as they carry "secrets" in their hearts, to suggest itsunderlying theme of old age loneliness. "The play marks the return of Satish Kaushik to the stage,to theatre. Something where he began his acting journey from,"says Hassan. Produced, written and directed by Hasan, the play is thethird in his repertoire of ‘commercial theatre’ after playslike "Ek Mulaqat" and "Gardish Mein Taare." Kaushik, an alumni of National School of Drama (NSD) hasalso lent his voice to the songs in the production, Hasansays.
