3 killed in separate mishaps

Banihal (J&K), Sep 21 (PTI) Three persons were killed andfour others were injured in two separate road mishaps onJammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district today. The victims were on their way to Kashmir from Jammuregion’s Kathua district in the car when it skidded off theroad and fell into a deep gorge at Shaban Dass area onthe National Highway around 3 AM, a police officer said. In the mishap, two persons died on the spot and as manyothers injured, he said, adding the police have evacuated thethe injured and the bodies from the spot. The deceased have been identified as Showkat Ahmed andNafees Ahmed – both resident of Pulwama in Kashmir, he said,adding the injured have been shifted to hospital. A case has been registered in this regard and furtherinvestigation is underway, he added. In a separate mishap, a man was killed and two others wereinjured when the truck they were travelling in rolled downinto a deep gorge near Battery Chashma in the district, thepolice officer said. Nayeem Ahmed was killed in the mishap and the injured wereshifted to the District Hospital at Ramban for treatment, hesaid. PTI CORR AB DIP DVDIP
