Guj model of VKY will be implemented across country: Bhabhor

Vadodara, Sep 21 (PTI) Union Minister of State forTribal Affairs Jaswantsinh Sumanbhai Bhabhor today said theGujarat model of Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana (VKY) will beimplemented across the country for the welfare of the tribalcommunity. He said for the purpose, his ministry has been holdingdiscussions with the ministry and agencies of various stategovernments. Bhabor was speaking against the backdrop of PrimeMinister Narendra Modi’s visit to Limkheda village in Dahoddistrict on his 67th birthday last week where he interactedwith people of the tribal communities. Modi in his speech had said that he was enthused bythe success of the Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojna in Gujarat, in whichover Rs 60,000 crores has been since its launch in the statein 2007. "It Prime Minister’s wish to implement VKY across thecountry after its success in Gujarat. Our ministry has beenholding workshops and consultations with various stakeholdersin tribal welfare, including MPs, agencies directly involvedin tribal welfare for effective implementation of the schemein other states," he added.
