Hundreds of tourists stuck in Andaman following Quake; Indian Navy called

More than 800 tourists are stranded at the Havelock island in Andaman and Nicobar. The Indian Navy has been called by Civil administration into action to rescue.

The weather in Andaman turned rough with heavy rainfall and stormy winds leaving almost no connectivity in the area. Indian Navy ships Bitra, Bangaram, Kumbhir and LCU 38 sailed from Port Blair and have been deployed for evacuation.

Andaman and Nicobar is a Tri Command with all three forces having a station base – Army, Navy and Air Force.
