Sunny Leone; Unapologetic & candid on Sexism and Corrupting ‘Indian Culture’

Date:

Sunny Leone’s epic takedown on the media who tried to shame her for being a former adult film entertainer took over the internet.  Sunny Leone said she faced more sexism than she did in her 9 year long career as a former porn star.

“I was never questioned about who I was, about my sexuality, or my integrity as a woman. Sexism on sets? Not once. But people here have to compromise. I haven’t. But it isn’t the same here… people have to compromise on their integrity and it’s a horrible feeling.”

And in case, she didn’t make it loud and clear then, here’s she spells it out once again for all those who still don’t get it. She became a porn star by choice. She wasn’t forced into it. Hers isn’t a sorry story. She owns up to all the decisions she’s made in life, whether right or wrong and no, she doesn’t feel an iota of shame.  She slayed over and was unstoppable.

She was also quoted saying in front of the media that;

“The only reason I said no to Bigg Boss initially was because of a past experience with the Indian community. I used to work in the adult film industry and the Indian community said you’re not a woman, you’re this name, that name. You name it, they said it. You are not what an Indian woman should be. You are a disgrace to our culture. You name it, I got it.” She started her interview with BBC by confessing that she had some legit reasons for not wanting to come to India at first. But she also admitted, “I was completely wrong to think that people would not accept me. There were a lot more people happy to watch me on television than not.”

She also said how some people have zero respect while talking to her and advised women to not tolerate inappropriate behaviour. On being ‘objectified’ in Bollywood she said that;

“I don’t know. I objectify men all the time. Just kidding! Maybe not so much kidding but I don’t see the word ‘objectification’ as a bad word. We all objectify things and products and people to sell the product we wish to sell. For me sometimes, it is selling brand ‘Sunny Leone’. For a film, it’s selling the name with the film.”

A totally savage response for haters who claim she’s spoiling the ‘Indian culture’ was candid as ever;

“I don’t push my views or my opinions or my videos that you’re watching and Google-ing my name and then deciding that you want to watch them…I didn’t make you watch them. You did that. So, if you don’t want to watch them, then just don’t type my name on Google and you won’t find them.”

Sunny Leone nailed it!!
