Michelle Obama’s last White House speech got emotional

Date:

Michelle Obama gave her final speech as the first lady of the United States, to an assembled school guidance counsellors from across the country.

While ending her speech, she took an emotional turn, as she said,

“I want our young people to know that they matter — that they belong. So don’t be afraid. Young people, do you hear me? Don’t be afraid. Be focused. Be empowered. Empower yourselves with a good education.”

Michelle Obama has taken over many issues of American society like Obesity, in her capacity as the first lady. She further went on to say that, she would stay involved in youth issues for “the rest of my life” and that she can “think of no better way to end my time as first lady” than by thanking teachers for their work.
