Farmers in Rajasthan demands action over the killed farmers in MP riots

Protesting Farmers in Rajasthan’s Pratapgarh district held a mourning meet today. The meet was organized to protest against the killing of farmers in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh. The agitating farmers have demanded action against the police officials allegedly involved in killing of farmers.

The primary and the foremost demands of the farmers in Pratapgarh include the following:
1)It must be ensured that the basic minimum support price is 1.5 times the cost of production of crops.
2) The government should warrant or assure Rs. 1 lakh for the farmers through Kisan Credit Card.
3) Action must be taken against the policemen who were involved in the killing of the farmers.
4) Payment of compensation for their crops.
5) Timely processing of insurance claims.

According to the reports, Rampal Jat, National President, Kisan Mahasangh said ‘’Government should act against those involved in the atrocity on farmers in Madhya Pradesh. If it can act on stone pelters in Kashmir, it should also act on those involved in the killing of the farmers as well.  The policemen involved, the Collector and the SP should be suspended.”
