It is evident that both Meghan Markle and Priyanka Chopra became good friends over the years as they were shooting at the same time in Toronto. While PC was playing Alex Parrish on Quantico, Markle was playing the role of Rachel Zane on Suits.
Soon the friendship between the celebs became part of Royal wedding speculations. Priyanka Chopra on Wednesday gave a hint at the possibility of being one of Markle’s bridesmaid during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar Arabia.
Chopra was asked if she will be among the bridal party for the Royal wedding of Prince Harry and Markle, she replied coyly, “If you see me there, you’ll know.”
The actress also reiterated her previous opinion of ‘a woman is not just a plus one’, when in September she commented on Markle’s interview with Vanity Fair, saying, “It’s natural for people to be like, ‘Oh that’s Prince Harry’s girlfriend, but she’s a lot more as well.”
The Desi Girl proudly talked about her friend, saying, “She’s an icon, truly, that girls can look up to, that women can look up to. She’s normal, she’s sweet, she’s nice, she thinks about the world, wants to change it and this was even before any of this happened. So I do think Meghan being a part of the royal family is a big step in the direction of so many things; of women, of feminism, of diversity, of race, of the monarchy versus everyone else. It’s a beautiful step in the right direction.”
According to latest reports, Prince Harry and Markle are considering a break from royal tradition by making an “affectionate” speech at their wedding in May. Talking about Markle modernising a centuries-old institution Chopra said that the way Markle will change it, nobody else would.
“She is just right for it,” said Chopra.
