Veteran actor Jeetendra accused of sexual assault by his cousin

Date:

One of the cousins of Veteran actor Jeetendra has accused him of a sexual assault in a hotel in Shimla during the shooting of a film 47 years ago.

The woman, whose name has been reserved, has penned down a letter to the DGP of Himachal Pradesh, asking for the registration of an FIR. While Rizwan Siddiquee, Jeetendra’s lawyer, has denied the allegations calling it baseless, ridiculous and fabricated claims that have been made to defame the actor with a personal agenda.

The lawyer also said that any court of law or law enforcement agencies would not entertain the plaintiff who files charges after a span of almost 50 years.

The woman, in the letter, had alleged that the abuse happened in January 1971, when the actor was 28 and had just stepped into Bollywood.

She claimed that she had just turned 18 and Jeetendra, without informing her, took her father’s permission to take her to visit his film’s set, where he sexually assaulted her. She insisted that before this, Jeetendra had never spoken to her about her films and the two were not friendly.

The letter below illustrates the alleged act of sexual assault in detail, where she had stated that Jeetendra picked her up in a car from her home on a fateful day. In the car, there were two other men apart from him.

The plaintiff clearly mentioned that when they reached Shimla it was night time, and she and Jeetendra shared a room that had two separate beds. She went to sleep in the bed facing a wall in the far corner of the room while the actor went out.

“Later that night, he returned to the room and joined the two beds together, while I was still asleep. As I rested on my side, facing the wall, he entered the bed and mounted me from behind with his penis erect,” she wrote in the letter, adding that Jeetendra “smelled of alcohol and was naked from the waist down.”

In the letter, she alleged that the actor stimulated himself against her body and upon pushing him away, he asserted that this is how he sleeps. After the ordeal ended, Jeetendra parted the beds and both did not speak after that.

“The next day, he asked his driver to buy me some clothes and drop me back to New Delhi,” she mentioned in the letter. It took her years to yield to her trauma, and she ultimately chose to file a police complaint after the demise of her parents.

Siddiquee, the actor’s lawyer said he “wants to make it specifically clear that the law does not give any person any rights or liberties of making any baseless, ridiculous or fabricated claims against any man publicly and seek to defame him with a hidden personal agenda.”

“In any event, the timing of this baseless complaint seems to be nothing but a miserable effort made by a jealous competitor to disrupt the business activities of my client and his esteemed company. Such efforts are therefore in all fairness treated with the contempt it truly deserves,” he added.
