Afghan woman takes university exam while caring for baby; picture goes viral

Kabul: When you have will to do something, nothing can stop you. It’s a known fact that the education of women in Afghanistan has always been an issue of world leaders and activists to empower the women in the country that has been under attacks. But, beating all odds, a woman appearing for her university entrance examination while nursing her baby at the same time has taken the social media with a storm.

A viral picture shows a woman sitting on the floor as the rest of the candidates appearing for the exams were sitting on in an arranged manner on their seats while she was taking care of the baby but continuing to write her paper.

Jahan Taab, 25, was giving an entrance exam- Kankor exams, as reported by the CNN, in the Nilli city’s Nasirkhorsaw Higher Education Institute to study social sciences course. She was carrying her two-month-old baby along with her.

As she was writing her paper, the baby started to cry. Taab, then, took the baby and left her desk and took her sheets and the baby and sat on the floor to continue writing her exams and feed the baby simultaneously. One of the lecturers was so touched after witnessing the scene took to Facebook to share the moment with the world.

Taab has three children and her village is in Miramar district of Afghanistan. With her dedication and determination, the woman had cleared her exams and will take up the course she had applied for.
