‘Math paper leak matlab?’ says CBSE chief on paper leak

Even as the police have arrested 12 students from Jharkhand for having the leaked 10th standard board examinations Maths paper in their possession, CBSE Chairperson Anita Karwal was caught unaware on the newsbreak.

When NewsMobile partner Republic TV reached out to the CBSE chief for a reaction on the matter, she said that she was unaware of the paper leak in Jharkhand.

“Math paper leak matlab? (What do you mean by Math paper leak?),” asked Anita Karwal.

“Is it in news today? Let me have a look on this, let me just check it up,” she said further.

The latest development in the CBSE paper leak issue has brought with it immense embarrassment for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the HRD Ministry, which had claimed that the leak of the 10th board Maths paper has been contained in Delhi and NCR region. The accused students in Jharkhand were held near Chatra’s Sadar Police Station area.

The CBSE on Friday held a news briefing over the board exam question paper leaks and announced that the Class XII Economics re-exam will be held all over India on April 25 and the Class X Mathematics re-exam, if required, will be held only in Delhi and Haryana. A decision will be taken within 15 days. If needed, the re-exam will take place in July.
