Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ask guests to Donate to Charity as Wedding gift!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are soon to get married on May 19 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor. And for their wedding gift, they have asked guests to donate to seven charities.

According to the reports by the Palace, they do not have any formal relationship with any of the charities chosen but have selected which support area they both are passionate about.

Out of the seven charities selected, one of them is the Myna Mahila Foundation which is based and located in Mumbai.

Myna foundation supports women in Mumbai’s urban slums. This foundation deals with the issue of menstrual hygiene management at its roots. This foundation works in Govandi slum dwellers communities where Myna is helping to raise awareness around menstruation and in bringing affordable sanitary products directly to the women in need.
Palace Twitter account read, “Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle are incredibly grateful for the goodwill they have received since their engagement, & have asked that anyone who might wish to mark the occasion of their wedding considers giving to charity, instead of sending a gift,”

Further, it added, Harry and Markle do not have any formal relationships with the charities chosen, but they are keen to “amplify and shine a light on their work”.

The official page of foundation posted, “Myna Mahila Foundation is honored to be one of seven charities chosen to benefit from donations marking the wedding of Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle,”

Meghan Markle who visited Indian in 2017, had personally met the founder of Myna Mahila Foundation, Suhani Jalota. These two discussed empowering and employing poor women in Mumbai.

The other charities which have been included are the homelessness charity Crisis, Street Games which uses sport to change lives, Scotty’s Little Soldiers which helps bereaved Armed Forces children, CHIVA (Children’s HIV Association), The Wilderness Foundation UK, which promotes the enjoyment of wild nature and marine conservation charity Surfers Against Sewage
