Sensex surges 260.59 points led by banking stocks, Nifty above 10,770

The 30-share BSE Sensex closed 260.59 points higher at 35,547.33 on Wednesday, while the Nifty 50 ended 61.60 points up at 10,772.05, snapping a two-day losing streak led by banking stocks.

Global cues were also positive the panic surrounding a potential global trade war showed signs of easing. Oil prices advanced, supported by a drop in US crude inventories with focus on Opec meeting on 22-23 June.
