Hangover? Here are some tips to get you through!

Hangover is nothing but the after-effects of drinking too much alcohol. The effects can be both physiological and psychological which are generally experienced the morning after a night of heavy drinking.

It’s worth pointing out that different people experience different side effects of overindulging. However, common symptoms comprise accelerated heartbeat, dizziness, lethargy, nausea, bad breath, anxiety, irritability, fatigue, stomach ache, body pain, headache, and photophobia, sensitivity to loud sounds, erratic motor functions and vomiting.

Along with hangover, drinking alcohol causes dehydration and, when you overindulge, its toxic effects can harm your liver, brain, gastrointestinal system, central nervous system and sensory perception.

The only actual cure for a hangover is time. Nevertheless, there are some easy things that can help mitigate hangover and promote a quicker recovery.

Water

One of the best ways to get rid of the hangover is to drink plenty of water. Alcohol reduces water from the body so you need to rehydrate your body by drinking water at regular intervals. Moreover, water dilutes the impurities left in your stomach.

Lemon

Along with water, adding Lemon juice can help get rid of the after-effects of extreme drinking like queasiness, dizziness, sensitivity to light and sound, and muscle pain. Lemon assists in rebalancing the body, by scheming the blood sugar level and altering the pH level.

So add two teaspoons of fresh lemon juice and one teaspoon of honey to a glass of warm water. Have it twice or thrice in a day.

Tomato Juice

Another simple way to control hangover symptom is to drink tomato juice. It contains fructose, a type of sugar which helps your body metabolize alcohol more quickly. Moreover, it contains rich vitamins, minerals and enzymes that assist quickly to overcome the after-effects of drinking.

Banana

Excessive drinking can drain away lots of potassium from your body. To help refill potassium in your body along with lost electrolytes, one simple solution is to eat bananas. They are really a good source of potassium. Also, bananas can calm the stomach and increase your energy level.

Peppermint

To treat hangover symptoms, Peppermint is a very helpful herb. It helps get of indigestion and helps relieve tension, bloating and nausea, some of the most common symptoms of an acute hangover. So chew some fresh peppermint leaves throughout the day.
